Halogen gas filled bulbs are under high pressure, and touching the surface, or in case the bulb is dropped, they may explode, thus when handling these bulbs, safety glasses and preferably only the bulb base when holding them. Do not touch the surface of the bulb directly with fingers or oil that is from the skin can cause overheating and eventually the bulb fails; in case your fingers touched the bulb, use rubbing alcohol to wipe the bulb. For 1994 and 1995 models, begin the process by removing the electrical connector of the
Headlight bulb by holding the connector on two clips at the sides and pulling it. Second, turn the headlight bulb retaining ring anticlockwise to release it and finally, extract the bulb from about the housing. When replacing a headlight bulb, the customer should touch only the bottom of the bulb, and then it should be inserted on the headlight assembly so that the tabs would fit with the holes of the assembly, and the end cap should be twisted clockwise. Reconnect the electrical connector. For all of the 1995-1/2 and newer models, to take the headlight bulb cover, this has to be rotated anticlockwise, the electrical connector also has to be removed, the retaining wire unsnapped and the bulb has to be pulled out. To install the new bulb, it is required to fit it into the housing: adjust the three tabs of the bulb base with the three slots of the housing before fixing it, and other actions are done in reverse of the steps mentioned above.
