Pull the parking brake lever, lift the rear of the car, and secure it on jackstands; also, chock the front wheels before detaching the wheels and tires. Third, the brake disc also has to be unbolted and dismantled as well as the ABS wheel speed sensor, while the parking brake cables should be disconnected from levers of the brake backing plate and the parking brake shoes should be taken out. Remove the four bearing retainer nuts and gently pulling the axleshaft out from the rear axle housing with the assisting backing plate in a way that will not damage the axleshaft seal. The next step provided for removal of the axleshaft inner oil seal and if further disassembly of the axleshaft assembly deeper work and the tools will be needed; it is recommended to take the assembly to the automotive machine if some of the components will be required to be replaced. Force a new axleshaft inner seal onto the end of the axle tube by hammering with a seal installer or by using a big socket.Put clean oil or multi purpose grease on the lip of the seal while installing it. Check the condition of the axleshaft is that it does not have any sharp edges like burr or metal splinters, and then smoothing out any rough edges that may hurt the seal during fitting. After the clean up of the axleshaft, it should lightly be oiled before being placed in its place in the axle housing and the splined inner end must not damage the lip of the new seal. Last is installation: and it is just the reverse of removal; the four retainers nuts are to be tightened to the required torque.
