Using pliers, remove the snap-rings from the spider and place the driveshaft in a vise or press. Place a piece of pipe or a large socket over one of the bearing caps and use the vise or press to force the bearing cap out. Transfer the sockets to the opposite sides and press the other bearing cap out. Pack the new joints with grease and position the spider into the yoke. Partially install one bearing cap in the yoke and start the spider into the bearing cap. Partially install the other bearing cap and press the bearing caps into place. Use the smaller socket to press the caps fully into place and install the snap-rings. If the universal joint has a grease fitting, install it and add grease using a grease gun. Finally, install the driveshaft.
