To replace it, raise the front of the vehicle and place it securely on jackstands. Disconnect the electrical connector from the CKP sensor. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten the CKP sensor mounting bolt securely.

Locate the CKP sensor on the front of the transaxle bellhousing, trace the sensor electrical lead up to the connector, which is located on a small bracket at the left end of the cylinder head, then disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector. To disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector on a 1998 and later model, depress this wire retainer with your thumb and pull off the connector.
