The entire range of models produced from 2001 to 2006 is equipped with an accelerator cable and a cruise control cable. Unlike other models though, throttle operation on these vehicles is electronically regulated by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) sensor data that controls throttle plate position in the
Throttle Body during cruise control activation. In case applicable, remove the engine cover before pulling off the accelerator cable. From here, disengage it from its connection with the throttle lever. Identify all clips and guides that are attached on the firewall and ascertain which one can be traced back to the accelerator cable. Inside the car, undo this pedal's wire. After that, release bolts and disconnect it from firewall. Through a passage located in your vehicle's firewall starting from one end you have to go inside an engine compartment where you will pull it out the other end of this opening so as to completely get rid of it from a car interior space. To fix back, do everything contrariwise to what we did when removing it earlier. Apply some white grease at fitting end of accelerator pedal section concerning this wire piece.
