Changing all injector 0-rings is advised even should only one be leaking, since to service the fuel rail, one has to remove the whole assembly. First, purge fuel pressure, next cut the connection between the negative terminal of the battery and the car's body, last but not least, if there is an engine cover, remove it. Next, remove the air intake duct and air filter housing after that upper intake manifold should be removed. Pop off the fuel line from the fuel rail, and for the model up to 2005, remove the fuel return line connected to the
Fuel Pressure Regulator also. Pull out the electrical connectors of the fuel injectors and put the injector harness away. Depress the fuel rail clamps and release the fuel rail from the intake manifold and using the wrench, unscrew the fuel rail mounting bolts. In case, remove the fuel tube for the fuel rails by pulling out the clip and unscrewing the supply tube and before reconnecting it put a new 0-ring. Taking off the fuel injectors from the fuel rail procedure includes the removal of the retaining clips followed by the removal of the injectors by prying the clips and twisting the injectors. If reusing the same injectors replace the washer seals, grommets, and 0-rings with the new one. It has the opposite process of removal; new injector 0-rings are used and the mounting bolts of the fuel rail are tightened to the prescribed magnitude of torque.
