How do you replace the ignition switch and key lock cylinder on Kia Sedona?

To replace the ignition switch housing, one has to disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and take out the upper and lower covers of the steering column. Here, slot the bolts on the shear-head bolts fixing the ignition switch housing to the steering column shaft or drill the bolt and evacuate them using a screw extractor. Once you take out the bolts, disconnect the electrical related to it and then take out the ignition switch housing. A new replacement ignition housing will come with new shear head bolts; just make sure that as you put the pieces together it slightly aligns before you tighten the supplied bolt and as it reaches that moment when the head of the bolt sticks out you reverse the process of removing the bolt in replacing one. As for reinstallation, it is best done in a reverse order to which the cables were removed.
