How to replace the CMP sensor on Kia Sportage?

IN 1996 AND 1997 MODELS, the CMP sensor is an integral component of the distributor. Replacing the CMP sensor means replacing the distributor. 1998 AND LATER MODELS: The location of the CMP sensor on four-cylinder engines (except 2.0L DOHC) is at the left end of the cylinder head close to left end of exhaust camshaft. On 2.0L DOHC engines, this sensor can be found in right rear corner of cylinder head down towards intake camshaft. For 2.7L V6 engines, it is placed on a backwards slant at top point end right edge closest side its bore backwards facing up pointing down topmost opposite side front part instead below lower section aside from complete apart behind. Disconnect electrical connector for CMP sensor. Depress release tab and pull off connector for CMP sensor electrical connector.To have it disengaged from cylinder assembly, remove two mounting bolts from it, put aside noise suppressor and get rid of it (1.8L DOHC four-cylinder engines). Remove CMP sensor mounting bolts, set them aside with noise suppressor and get rid of one.Looking inside may require careful insertion into opening while removing assembly as well.The presence or absence damaged hardened rubber ring being checked before disassembling must be addressed if required.Remounting is done just as removal procedure was completed.Should not forget that back-most important thing you absolutely need remember!
